About us
ArtWine was established in 2008 after Glen Kelly and Judy Valon decided to become a permanent team in both work and life. With our backgrounds in international marketing and banking, we have now combined our skills to create and build our brand. Together we manage the ArtWine brand and our wine “future”.
ArtWine has two vineyards and vineyard accommodation in the Clare Valley and a vineyard and cellar door currently under construction in Bird in Hand Road, Woodside in the Adelaide Hills, opening in October 2013.
Our vision is to focus on alternative varieties that offer something different to wine consumers. Taking a page from the Europeans who drink lighter styles and lower alcohol more food friendly wines, we have engaged the renowned Joanne Irvine as our Winemaker to create some wonderful exotic wines. We firmly believe that Australia's future lies in alternative wines and we aim to create new and exciting varieties to offer exisiting wine drinkers and embrace potential wine drinkers.
We were very excited to have won the Winestate Australia and New Zealand Pinot Grigio category WINE OF THE YEAR in 2011 . Since then we have gone on to take out GOLD medals at the Royal Adelaide and the Royal Melborne Wine Shows for our first release estate grown Fiano. This was the first Fiano produced from the Clare Valley. More recently we won a TROPHY for our Riesling at the Clare Valley Wine Show in 2012.
